On Monday night, multiple people were shot and killed in Northeast Washington, not far from Capitol Hill.

The gunfire was reported around 8:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of F Street North East, according to The Washington Post, which cited D.C. fire spokesman Vito Maggiolo.

According to a tweet from the Metropolitan Police Department, numerous victims were reported, but the numbers were not disclosed. At this time, no victims have been recognized, nor have any suspects been identified.

Even police spokesman Officer Sean Hickman stated that multiple victims were discovered. According to The Washington Post, a neighbor, one of several who arrived at the site as ambulances lined the street, reported hearing at least 15 gunshots.

Additionally, the police department tweeted about a shooting investigation at the junction of the 700 block of Newton Place NW and the 200 block of Oglethorpe St NE.

The unknown is if the two latest tweets are connected to the initial shooting. President Joe Biden stated that the United States must ban assault rifles or raise the age to purchase them from 18 to 21 to safeguard children and families in the face of rising gun violence.

A teenager was fatally shot, and three others, including a police officer, were injured in a shooting on June 20 at the 14th and U Street Northwest neighborhood of Washington, DC.
