TikTok app users increases amid coronavirus lockdown

TikTok, a Chinese video-sharing social networking service owned by Byte Dance, has become the most popular video-sharing app of today and has more than 2 billion users.

The users of this popular app under the Chinese company Byte Dance had reached 1.5 billion five months ago. But in the last five months, TikTok has managed to add 500 million new users since people are locked down in their home as COVID-19 pandemic hits the entire world.

This popular app has been downloaded 2 billion times from Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store, according to Sensor Tower, a mobile technology and application research company. This has been downloaded 315 million times in the App Store and Google Play between January and March.

According to the report, India is leading to TikTok usage. TikTok has been downloaded a total of 611 million times in India. There is 30.3 percent of the total TikTok users.

China, in second place, lags far behind India. The TikTok app has been downloaded 196.6 million times in China. The number of downloads of the TikTok app in the last three months is said to be the main reason for the epidemic to break the record.

The Corona virus epidemic has left tens of millions of people indoors and overuse of this app for entertainment, according to the report.
