US records nearly 1,400 deaths in 24 hours

The United States has recorded 1,379 new coronavirus deaths in 24 hours leading up to 8.30 pm on Thursday (0030 GMT Friday), according to Johns Hopkins University tally.

The country's number of daily coronavirus deaths is the highest in the world rank.

The US has become the worst-hit corona affected country in the world overtaking all the countries. Globally, 17,481,953 people have been infected worldwide, with 676,824 deaths, and 10,941,906 people recovered with the virus so far.

It has now recorded more than 4.63 million in total cases. The country's coronavirus death toll is 155,285 as of Thursday evening more than a fifth of the world's recorded deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.

There are 2,284,965 people who have been successfully discharged across the country till date, has pushed the recovery rate to 94%.
