The president of the United States, Donald Trump approved the emergency declaration request by Washington Mayor, on Monday.

"Today, President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in the District of Columbia and ordered Federal assistance to supplement the District's response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from the 59th Presidential Inauguration from January 11 to January 24, 2021," read a statement from the Office of the White House Press Secretary.

After the Capitol Breach last Wednesday, the security concerns in Washington have been rising. FBI reported earlier that an Armed Gang is preparing for a violent protest.

Muriel Bowser, Mayor of Washington DC had asked the president for a "Pre-Emergency disaster" declaration earlier.

The emergency declaration authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate resources with state and local authorities.

The declaration will be effective until the twenty-fourth of January, covering the Biden inauguration on the twentieth.
