1. Predestination (2014)
Predestination, a 2014 Australian sci-fi action thriller film directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, is based on the 1959 short story "All You Zombies" by Robert A. Heinlein. A Temporal Agent (Ethan Hawke) is sent on an entangled series of time-travel expeditions designed to limit criminals from committing deadly crimes that risk the lives of thousands of peoples.

Now, on the final assignment, the Agent has to catch a criminal who has successfully dodged him the whole time and rescue the mortals whose life is at peril. The chase turns into a distinctive, intriguing, and mind-twisting exploration of love, fate, identity, and the limitations of time travel. 

2. Interstellar (2014)
Interstellar is a 2014 American-British sci-fi movie directed and produced by Christopher Nolan. The movie explores a distant future where humanity is struggling to survive and has to search for a new home. Thus, a group of astronauts travels through a wormhole near Saturn to reach a different dimension. This extraordinary movie revolves around the emotional bond between father and daughter, the burden and hope of humanity, the physics of time, space, and the possibilities beyond wormholes. 
 

3. About Time (2013)
About Time is a 2013 British romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Richard Curtis. The film is about a 21-year young man named Tim who discovers that men of his family possess the secret ability to travel back in time and relive the moments they have lived before. After being discouraged by his father from using the gift to acquire money or fame, Tim decides he will use it to improve his love life. His decision to make his world a better place by changing the past, hoping to improve his future, turns out not to be as easy as you might think. He then faces heartbreak, love, realization, dilemma, and a choice to make.

4. Looper (2012) 
Looper is a 2012 American sci-fi action film written and directed by Rian Johnson. It revolves around "present-day" contract killers called "loopers" hired by criminal syndicates from the future to eliminate victims whom they send back through time. Joe however learns that the mob wants to 'close the loop' by sending back Joe's future self for assassination. The loop then creates a series of alternate timelines and the story continues and will have you hooked up since the beginning.

5. Source Code (2011)
Source Code is a 2011 American sci-fi action thriller movie directed by Duncan Jones, starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a U.S. Army captain who is sent into computed reality. He wakes up in the body of Sean Fentress and discovers he's part of a top-secret experimental government operation to find the bomber of a commuter train within 8 minutes. The purpose of Colter's mission is to learn the identity of the bomber and prevent a similar catastrophe. As Colter lives Sean's final moments, he becomes more certain that he can prevent the occurrence of the first tragedy, as long as he doesn't run out of time.
