Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said that Democrats are not negotiating with themselves for 1.9Trillion COVID relief package.

When asked if he'd be dropping demands for a $15-per-hour federal minimum wage to win GOP support, soon to be Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee said, “Tell me the Republicans we have onboard right now. I have not heard one Republican.”

He added, "What we’re not going to do is negotiate with ourselves."

When asked about his timeline for moving ahead with budget reconciliation Senator Sanders said, "Yesterday". He added, "the American people are hurting and we're going to move as aggressively as we can."

Sanders later tweeted via his handle @SenSanders "What concerns me as much as anything is that half our people are living paycheck to paycheck. Millions of people are trying to survive on starvation wages. It’s morally imperative that we raise the minimum wage to a living wage that’s at least $15 an hour."

Sanders a moderate left, often termed by right-wingers as far left, is popular for his idea of a social welfare state.
