US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin have held telephone talks for the first time.

In his first phone call since being sworn in as the president, Biden raised concern about Navalny's arrest.

According to the White House, the President also raised concerns over Russia’s alleged involvement in a massive cyber-espionage campaign and reports of Russian bounties on American troops in Afghanistan.

U.S. intelligence officials say Russia has a hand in many cyber hacks in the USA.

The talks focused on the ongoing protests in Russia and the expansion of the US-Russia Nuclear Weapons Treaty.

Russian President Vladimir Putin formally congratulated Biden and the two agreed to stay in touch.
