The United States Senate has confirmed that Linda Thomas Greenfield will lead the US diplomacy at the United Nations as the Ambassador.

The 35-year-old veteran of foreign service will be the third African-American and second African-woman to have hold the job. Senate voted her 78-20 in favor of the nomination.

She had retired at the age of 35 during the Trump Administration.

Republicans who opposed her she would not stand up for the "US principles" at the United Nations. They claim her attitude towards China was soft.

Once, she had praised China's Belt and Road Initiative program in Africa and called for “a win-win-win situation” where the U.S. and China would promote good governance and the rule of law.
