The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has declared five Chinese Tech Companies as a threat to the National Security of the United States.

The five Chinese companies to be labeled so are, Huawei, Hytera Communications, ZTE, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology, and Dahua Technology.

In a statement, FCC Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said that the list is a big step forward in renewing trust in communication networks.

She said, "This list provides meaningful guidance that will ensure that as next-generation networks are built across the country, they do not repeat the mistakes of the past or use equipment or services that will pose a threat to US national security or the security and safety of Americans."

Huawei CEO had said he hoped that the new administration will reset the unfair Trump policies. However, it seems that the Biden administration will be no different to the Chinese Tech Companies than the Trump Administration.

The move by the FCC comes one day after the Biden administration imposed new 5G license restrictions on some suppliers to Huawei. The US government suspects 5G equipment could be used by Beijing to spy on the US.

Huawei has already been facing a lot of sanctions enforced by the Trump Administration, which even prohibits the Chinese company to use US-made microchips and processors.
