Man who stabbed and killed in Times Square homeless shelter arrested

Police have charged a male suspect with murder in the fatal stabbing of a man inside a Times Square hotel that also acts as a homeless shelter.

According to police, Patrick McDonough, 49, a homeless man, allegedly killed Stanley Castor, 39, at the hotel at 38 West 31st Street late Saturday night.

Castor was discovered with stab wounds to the neck, shoulder, and arm. According to cops, he was taken to Bellevue Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

The Empire State Building is two blocks away from the hotel-turned-shelter.
