Sen. Graham Proposes Sanctions On China Amid COVID19 Origin Debate

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) warned Wednesday that until China agrees to a transparent investigation into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, he expects to seek penalties.

“I don't think they're ever going to help without penalties, without international pressure,” Graham said on Fox News' "America Reports," adding that "the only way China's going to act is when the world makes them act."

“So I think sanctions led by the US, accepted by the world, would get us to where we need to go, and I expect to impose those measures pretty soon,” Graham concluded.

President Biden revealed earlier Wednesday that the US intelligence agency has 90 days to figure out if the virus spread naturally from animals to people or was spilled accidently from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

According to Biden, intelligence agencies have “‘coalesced around two possible scenarios' but have not reached a definitive conclusion” on the topic.
