Sacramento
(MNA) – Two people were killed and four others were hurt in a shooting overnight in Old Sacramento, police said Saturday.

Officers from the Sacramento Police Department arrived at the site near Front and L streets around 11:45 p.m. Friday night, according to FOX40.

“I swear I could hear them. It sounded like whistles,” a witness, Victoria Lizarraga, said. “I believe I would have been shot if I hadn't jumped over that wood thing.”

Lizarraga claims she was out having fun in Old Sacramento on Friday night when bullets whizzed past her ear, just missing her.

Lizarraga added, "The girl who was standing next to me got shot."

She claims that another girl in her vicinity was also shot in the legs.

Investigators suspect there was a confrontation prior to the incident, and many guns were discovered near Joe's Crab Shack. Marcus Trull, 22, and Cedric Salcedo, 21, were later identified as the culprits by police.

Lizarraga added, "It sounded like the shots went on for a while."

Two victims, both men, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. Four additional people were claimed to have injuries that were not life-threatening.

Officials stated this was a one-time occurrence, and the coroner's office will notify the victims' families before releasing their identities.
