Megan Thee Stallion is the first rapper to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue.

The superstar has been chosen to feature on one of the yearly edition's covers, with tennis player Naomi Osaka and actress Leyna Bloom acting as the other two cover models, according to the publication's editors.

Megan shared the good news on Instagram, posting a snapshot of her cover photoshoot and revealing that the job was a dream come true.

“The cover of @si swimsuit for the first time features a female rapper. The 26-year-old stated in the caption, "I want to thank all the strong women in my life who inspired me to love my body and live my best hot girl life." “To be on this cover means the world to me.”

Megan poses in a selection of bikinis and swimsuits from her Fashion Nova brand during her photoshoot, which was directed by photographer James Macari and took place on a Miami beach.

M.J. Day, the newspaper's creative director, maintained that the Hot Girl Summer singer was a wonderful fit for the publication.

“Megan Thee Stallion isn't one to stick to one path. In fact, she encourages everyone to participate in different activities, which is one of the things we admire about her. She captivated the globe with her music and style, but it was her unvarnished approach to the way she makes you think that drew our attention. She uses her position to break down barriers, analyze established conventions, and challenge others to consider how backward our culture is still operating,” she praised. “We are honored to have Megan on our 2021 cover because she is a vessel for change.”
