Agence France-Presse reported on Sunday that Scottish actor Mike Mitchell, who played in the films Gladiator and Braveheart, died in the Turkish holiday town of Fethiye. He was 65 years old at the time.
He is thought to have died of a heart attack, according to the private DHA news agency.
The actor, who was on vacation in Fethiye, southwest Turkey, was discovered dead in a marina cottage, according to the report.
Burak Ardahan, the marina's manager, investigated the cabin after the actor had been inside for a long time and saw him laying on the ground, so he called for help.
According to the DHA, Mitchell's body was sent to a morgue for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
