The first teaser trailer for HBO Max's planned Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon, has been published.

The series is based on George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood novel series, and it takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Martin revealed the project in October 2019, recommending that fans read Dangerous Women and Rogues as well as Fire & Blood "if you'd like to know a bit more about what the show will be about."

HBO Max not only released this teaser trailer, but they also announced four new cast members.

Wil Johnson will play Ser Vaemond Velaryon, according to the news. Vaemond Valeryon is Coryls Velaryon's younger brother and the Velaryon navy's captain.

John Macmillan plays ser Laenor Velaryon, and he is the "son of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen."

Lady Laena Valeyron is Savannah Steyn. Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen are her parents.

Finally, Ser Laenor Velaryon is Theo Nate. Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen are his parents.

Emma D'Arcy will play Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, according to HBO Max. "The king's firstborn child, she is of pure Valyrian blood, and she is a dragon rider," according to her official character description. Rhaenyra may have been born with everything... but she was not born a man."

Matt Smith would play Prince Daemon Targaryen, according to the announcement. "The younger brother of King Viserys and heir to the throne," according to his official description. Daemon is a legendary warrior and dragon rider who possesses the dragon's real blood. However, it is rumored that the gods toss a coin in the air whenever a Targaryen is born..."

Lord Corlys Velaryon, better known as The Sea Snake, is played by Steve Toussaint. "Lord of House Velaryon, a Valyrian bloodline as old as House Targaryen," his description reads. Lord Corlys grew his house into a powerful seat that is even wealthier than the Lannisters and boasts the world's greatest navy as "The Sea Snake," Westeros' most famous naval adventurer.

Olivia Cooke plays Alicent Hightower. "The daughter of Otto Hightower, the King's Hand, and the most beautiful woman in the Seven Kingdoms," according to her description. She grew up in the Red Keep, close to the king and his inner circle, and she possesses both courtly charm and political savvy."

Finally, they had revealed Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower earlier. "The King's Hand, Ser Otto faithfully and loyally serves both his king and his realm," states his description. The king's brother, Daemon, and his position as successor to the throne, according to the Hand, is the greatest threat to the realm."
