Israeli forces detained 12 suspects across the occupied West Bank over the weekend; a statement said Sunday connected with a string of deadly strikes inside Israel.

Israel's army and internal security agency, Shin Bet, announced that they had launched "coordinated counterterrorism operations" in multiple West Bank locations, including flashpoint towns Hebron and Jenin.

"Over the weekend, the forces apprehended a total of 12 individuals suspected of being involved in terrorist activities," they added.

Among those arrested was a man suspected of assisting his relative Raad Hazem in carrying out a shooting rampage earlier this month in a famous Tel Aviv nightlife area, killing three Israelis and injuring more than a dozen more.

Since March 22, 24 Palestinians, including assailants, have been slain across the West Bank as Israel ramps up operations in response to attacks.

Four attacks in Israel killed 14 people, including another shooting spree in Bnei Brak, an Orthodox Jewish city near Tel Aviv.

Several have been committed by assailants associated with or motivated by ISIS.
