Nepal's first COVID-19 death confirmed, women was on her 9 days maternity

Nepal has today confirmed their first covid-19 death, 29 years old women who just gave birth to a baby 9 days ago. She was from Sindhupalchowk district, Nepal, and was admitted to Dhulikhel Hospital after suffering from breathing difficulty.

She had passed away on Friday, May 15, and on Saturday according to her test reports, it has been confirmed that she was suffering from the covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population Nepal, confirmed that the women tested positive for coronavirus infection and passed away.

The woman had delivered a baby nine days ago at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), in Kathmandu, Nepal. After the delivery of her child, she was discharged from the health facility and went back home. But soon due to respiratory issues she was admitted to the hospital.

According to the sources, her sample was twice checked and both times it came out to be positive.

Nepal is facing now strict lockdown to maintain possible transmission of the novel coronavirus.

According to Worldometer, the total number of coronavirus cases in Nepal has reached 281, 36 recoveries, and 1 death.
