Covid 19: First Briton to be jailed for breaking quarantine rules

Nigel Skea, 52-year-old, has been sentenced to prison for two weeks for invading the country's quarantine rules.

Skea left his room at the five-star Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore Hotel to meet his fiance in a nearby room. He was caught not wearing a mask on three several occasions. He climbed the emergency stairway in order to spend time with his fiance, Agatha Maghesh Eyamalai for nine hours.

Eyamalai confessed on aiding Skea and was sent to jail for a week. Skea is the first Briton to be jailed in Singapore for breaking the quaratine rules. He was not only jailed but also made to pay fine of 1,000 Singapore dollars for breaking the rules in the city state. 

A bunch of other people have had their work passes revoked and paid fines. Follow rules and stay safe.
