Raaika Tours and treks a travel company in Nepal has received the 'Best company sustainable tourism practice in Asia' Award in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments & individual excellence in the field of tourism sector and exemplary work in Asia for practicing community-oriented sustainable tourism.
Former Minister of India and Member of Rajya Sabha Mr. Vijay Goel handed over the award to Amar Bahadur Shahi, the Managing Director of Raaika tours and treks at the '15th Annual International Hospital & Travel Awards 2019 ' at Ashoka Hotel , New Delhi. The program was organized by the Tourism Development Corporation of India, Hospitality India and GTC event in New Delhi on Friday, 15th Nov 2019.
Founded two decades ago, Raaika tours is a renowned travel company based in Nepal. Along with promotion of Nepal in the international market, Mr. Shahi is also continuously engage in integrated tourism development in the Midwest and the Far West Nepal . 'The award is result of our work,' said Shahi after receiving the prestigious award. ' This is good news that came on the eve of the visit Nepal 2020 that will help in promoting our tourism on the whole.'
Raaika has been promoting integrated tourism promotion of West Nepal through 'Wild West' campaign. Likewise, the company has been planting trees in the far west as a 'Green Farewest' campaign. Shahi said one hundred and fifty thousand trees have already been planted.
Raaika tours is also continually promoting tourism in Nepal through 'Wild-West' tourism program. The company has been running 'Save the Tiger' campaign since 2013. He said, he will continue to promote Nepal through such activities in future too. He stressed that the central and provincial governments should also cooperate in the efforts being made by the private sector.
